History of the Hotel Brunner
"A Hotel which will satisfy even the highest demands." A quote from the Amberger newspaper due to the opening of Hotel Brunner on the 20th of December 1958. The city was proud to be able to present such a new hotel, which had based it's design on the Hotel Hilton in Berlin.
On the 17th of March 1956 family Brunner started with the construction on the "Teufelsbäck" grounds. On the 20th of June was a small celebration after the roof had been erected. From Christmas 1958 family Brunner welcomed their first guests into their newly furnished Hotel, with all modern comforts and a homefelt, personal service - from now on Amberg had an added attraction.
In 1978 family Schatz took over the hotel. Renovations took place and an extension was built in order to keep up the standards and to offer their guests an even better service. This is still their motto today - with the main aim being to spoil their guests.
