The tour

From valley to valley

The Five Rivers Cycle Path invites you to one of the most beautiful cycle tours in Germany. It passes through five river valleys. Thus it connects the rivers Danube, Altmühl, Pegnitz, Vils and Naab. With a length of 317 kilometres, the cycle tour is also suitable for families with children due to the low gradients and well-developed paths.

Five rivers cycle path in the Vilstal

If you approach the Vilstal, you slowly reach the e-bike region around the district of Amberg-Sulzbach. Along railway tracks you cycle towards Amberg, the secret capital of the Upper Palatinate. Beautiful is the landscape here, characterized by the Bavarian Jura. In Amberg itself, the cycle path leads directly past the almost 1000-year-old historic old town. Hotel Brunner is located directly on the cycle path and, as a Bett&Bike hotel, offers exactly the service that cyclists need for a comfortable stopover. So many cycling tourists like to use our offer “Radl-Kurztrip”. Included is an overnight stay and for the start of the new tour stage a bike snack.

From Amberg to Regensburg

Coming from Nuremberg via Amberg, the next major stage is the city of Regensburg. The way there is lined with baroque buildings, magnificent churches and small towns like Kallmünz, which artists like Wassily Kandinsky already appreciated. The Five Rivers Cycle Route is very well signposted. You can recognize the tour by the rectangular signs with the green bicycle on a white background and the corresponding direction arrow.
