Public transport
Hotel Brunner is located just 100 meters from the Amberg train station and the central bus station (ZOB). Both hubs are a mere one- to two-minute walk away—making our location ideal for anyone traveling without a car.
From Amberg, direct train connections bring you straight to the major cities of Nuremberg and Regensburg in just about an hour. Local bus transit is operated by the VGN network (Greater Nuremberg Transport Association), with numerous regional and city routes (including lines 401–408) departing right from the central bus station (ZOB). For up-to-date timetables, simply check the digital displays at the station or use the VGN app.
Airport
The nearest airport is Nuremberg Airport "Albrecht Dürer", located about 58 km west of Amberg. The drive to the hotel takes approximately 45 minutes via the A6.
By car, you can reach the airport in about 45 minutes via the A6 toward Nuremberg. Alternatively, take the train from Amberg station to Nuremberg Central Station (approx. 1 hour), where you can catch the U2 subway line directly to the airport (approx. 12 minutes). We are also happy to arrange a private transfer service for you upon request—simply speak to our team at the reception desk.
Taxi
Since the hotel is located just 100 meters from the train station, most of our guests find they don’t need a taxi. However, if you do require a ride, several local taxi services are readily available. You can find a taxi rank located right outside the main station entrance.

Parking at the hotel
Our family-run hotel features a private underground garage that is securely locked at night, ensuring your vehicle stays safe and protected. If you’re arriving in an electric vehicle, you can conveniently charge it overnight at our on-site wallbox station. Our reception team will provide you with all the details during check-in, so you can enjoy a completely stress-free arrival.
The entrance to our underground garage is accessed via Ziegelgasse. Please note that due to our historic old town location, the driveway is a bit narrow—we highly recommend taking a wide turn when pulling in. Alternatively, a public parking garage is available just a few minutes' walk away. To unload your luggage, you are welcome to park briefly in the spaces right in front of the hotel on Batteriegasse.

Accessible arrival
Our hotel is set within a historic old town building. From our private underground garage, an elevator provides step-free access directly to the reception desk and many of our floors. We kindly ask guests with limited mobility to contact us prior to arrival so we can ensure everything is perfectly prepared for a seamless stay.
Our private underground garage offers step-free elevator access directly to the reception desk as well as to the first and second floors. Due to the historic nature of our building, please note that the main entrance on Batteriegasse is not step-free. For a fully accessible entry, guests with limited mobility are kindly requested to use the underground garage entrance via Ziegelgasse.
