Zeit zu zweit genießen

There is very little that Hanna Regina Uber and Robert Diem have not already explored artistically at least once. Their works are ambitious and experimental, both abstract and representational. Sculptures made of stone, bronze, acrylic, carbon, or wood that radiate pure life—often captured in the momentum of movement. In addition, there are prints that explore, through abstract means, the psychological and philosophical aspects of existence. Hanna Regina Uber’s and Robert Diem’s art is exciting and full of passion.

Heini Hohl, a former stage painter, has been working as a freelance artist since 1973. His versatile works in oil, acrylic, ink, and watercolor combine—often with a touch of humor—emotions, personal experiences, and thought-provoking themes. They hold up a mirror to the viewer, inspire self-reflection, and lend even life’s chance encounters a depth that is sometimes hidden in abstraction and sometimes in the seemingly obvious. Thus, Hohl’s art is an invitation to linger and enjoy.

Could there be anything more beautiful than being able to express oneself freely and openly showcase what one stands for? Art makes this possible, and Lilian Kovacs embodies powerful images of women in all their facets. The artist’s works demonstrate in the most striking way that this strength can encompass not only pain, suffering, and struggle, but also joy and life.

It’s not that easy to describe Marcus Trepesch. In fact, you could call him a rock star among Amberg’s artists. His versatility, sense of humor, and creativity set him apart, as does his dedication to countless projects in the region. He is not only the chairman of the A.K.T. Kunstverein Amberg but also a co-founder of “Kunst im Hotel” and has designed many rooms at the Hotel Brunner.

Ever since completing her apprenticeship as a glass engraver at Rosenthal in Amberg, Marion Mack has been passionately working with glass. This passion deepened during her time at the design school in Zwiesel and her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Now back in her hometown, she has been working as a freelance artist at the Amberg Kunstkombinat since 2012. Shaped by personal experiences and perceptions, Mack’s works are unique and authentic.

Art is magical; it interprets inner and outer subjective realities, but it is not the prompter of the soul. These are the ideas that the Amberg-based artist—who studied art history in Bamberg and art therapy in Munich—expresses through her works. The result is a body of work comprising collages, acrylic paintings, and objects that reflectively illustrate one’s own existence. She is one of the founders of the Amberg Art Collective.

Nina Ferstl holds a degree in communication design. Her works bear no resemblance to the rigidity implied by this professional title, as her paintings, designs, and graphics are vibrantly colorful, lively, and surprising. Her repertoire includes abstract artworks as well as portraits of well-known figures and drawings featuring motifs from Amberg. Nina Ferstl excels at capturing the liveliness of the moment, allowing the viewer to experience the scene firsthand.

Ruth Welnhofer’s work is as colorful, diverse, and impressive as her life as a teacher and visual artist. She adopted the innovative technique of “spontaneous realism” developed by the Austrian artist VOKA, using it to create new dimensions of artistic experience. The result is paintings and art objects that burst with vitality and literally draw the viewer into the image.

Breunig’s photographs are characterized by breathtaking color palettes, mysteriously evocative lighting, and striking scenes. His passion for photographic art is evident in all his works, whether they feature representational subjects or nudes. As an inspiring speaker, he also shares his expertise with the next generation at universities and conference centers. Most of the images of our rooms were staged and uniquely captured by him.

Artist Stefan Stock runs what is arguably the most unusual studio. It’s piled high with discarded electronic devices, cables, and light bulbs. What appears chaotic at first glance reveals, upon closer inspection, the elements from which the artist creates his works. Touching and experimenting are not only encouraged but are also part of the experience of appreciating the art. Some projects even tell little stories and reveal their secrets with every click or press of a button.
